Nourishing Dry Hair With Penetrating Oils Blend

09/15/2012 | By | More

Created with oils proven to be highly beneficial for dry natural hair, this oil mixture is a blend of penetrating, nourishing and sealing oils that will do fabulous things for your hair.  Since several of these oils penetrate the hair shaft in about 60 minutes, your hair will be slightly oily at application, then just slightly so after the oils do their job.  The addition of castor oil acts as a bit of a humectant, and the Jojoba oil helps seal in the moisture supplied by your moisturizing spritz.

You can use this mixture on damp or dry hair, as well as on your skin after a shower or bath.

Using a small funnel, I combine the following five ingredients into an applicator bottle:

My applicator bottle filled with a fresh batch of blended oils

  • 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Grapeseed Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Castor Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Jojoba Oil
  • 8-10 drops Sweet Orange, Ylang Ylang or Lavender essential oil

To use, shake bottle to make sure oils are blended. Place 1/2 to 1 tsp (depending upon length and thickness of hair), into the palm of your hand. Rub hands together and distribute oil thoroughly though hair concentrating on dry ends.
